Founded in 2013 by partners Richard Chiu and Tim Renie-Townsend, Torpedo Pictures began as a boutique studio. From the beginning, Torpedo’s specialty has been the production of high-quality, photo-realistic visual effects.
In 2016, Torpedo landed as a main VFX vendor on the popular sci-fi series The Expanse. Since then, Torpedo has brought high quality work to other sci-fi shows including Altered Carbon, Star Trek Discovery and Snowpiercer.
Torpedo has become a recognized visual effects studio, contributing high quality vfx to many recent series including, LoveCraft Country (HBO), What We Do in the Shadows (FX) and Schitts Creek (Netflix/CBC). Our team prides itself on providing an intimate experience for each of our clients projects. Torpedo continues to build strong working relationships with a diverse group of visual effects supervisors, directors, and producers.
