Taqqut Productions Inc. is an Inuit-owned film production company located in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Taqqut is committed to bringing the stories of the North to the world and aims to establish itself as an innovative leader of youth and children\u2019s programming. Taqqut has developed several film and television projects, its production experience includes; live-action, stop motion animation, 2D animation, and puppets. It also provides other project production services, such as web design, marketing, and technical writing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The company\u2019s short films have screened at festivals all over the world and have won\u00a0over thirty international awards. Taqqut Productions completed production on season two of the television series,\u00a0Anaana\u2019s Tent,<\/i>\u00a0which first premiered on APTN in spring 2018. Season three is in production and is expected to air on APTN in 2022. In its first season, Anaana\u2019s Tent was nominated for the Award of Excellence for Best Program, Live Action Scripted (Preschool 3-5) at the Youth Media Alliance and host, Rita-Claire Mike Murphy, was awarded the 2019 Emerging Talent Award at the Youth Media Alliance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In addition to Anaana\u2019s Tent, Taqqut has also begun production on a new television series,\u00a0Tundra Friends<\/i>\u00a0hosted by Susan Aglukark.\u00a0<\/i>Taqqut has had great success with many recent short films including\u00a0Giant Bear,\u00a0<\/i>which\u00a0was awarded Best Animated Short at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards.
