{"id":3893,"date":"2023-02-23T18:21:58","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T18:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/listing\/sodec\/"},"modified":"2023-07-19T20:18:10","modified_gmt":"2023-07-19T20:18:10","slug":"sodec","status":"publish","type":"listing","link":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/listing\/sodec\/","title":{"rendered":"SODEC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>If the acronym SODEC is now well anchored in the Quebec landscape, it was a real game of\u00a0<\/span><em><span>Scrabble<\/span><\/em><span>\u00a0before arriving there!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The story begins with the creation of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in 1961, from which emerged in 1975 the Institut qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois du cin\u00e9ma (IQC), followed in 1978 by the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de d\u00e9veloppement des industries de la culture (SODIC), which would become a business bank for the cultural industries of Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In 1983, the IQC was transformed and split into two organizations: the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale du Cin\u00e9ma (SGC) and the Institut qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois du cin\u00e9ma II (IQC II).\u00a0In 1987, we witnessed a new turn;\u00a0the government merges SGC and SODIC to form SOGIC, the General Society for Cultural Industries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In 1993, in the wake of Quebec&#8217;s new cultural policy, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec was created.\u00a0As for cultural enterprises, books, records and crafts are still under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, while cinema and bank financing of cultural enterprises are handled by SOGIC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>One of the objectives of the Cultural Policy being to implement a strategy for the development of cultural industries, a year later, in 1994, a bill was tabled to create SODEC, a merger of SOGIC and IQC.\u00a0On February 15, 1995, a decree was adopted to officially create SODEC.\u00a0The activities of the new entity start with the beginning of the financial year on April 1,\u00a0<\/span><sup><span>1995<\/span><\/sup><span>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A long road traveled, but above all a great success and an example of determination and will of a people who identify their identity and choose to express their originality.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"author":1063,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","listing-category":[181],"list-tags":[],"location":[372],"class_list":["post-3893","listing","type-listing","status-publish","hentry","listing-category-funding","location-montreal"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/listing\/3893","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/listing"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/listing"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1063"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3893"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/listing\/3893\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":6565,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/listing\/3893\/revisions\/6565"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3893"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"listing-category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/listing-category?post=3893"},{"taxonomy":"list-tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/list-tags?post=3893"},{"taxonomy":"location","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/animationdirectory.ca\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/location?post=3893"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
